Kagoshima Prefectural Museum

This museum collection originally started in order to reserve record of a big eruption of Sakurajima volcano, occurred in 1914. It is a small museum but exhibit of geology, biology and botanical are well-balanced. When I visited, special exhibition was "nature of Kuchinoerabu island", the island has volcanos and one of them erupted in 2015. (2018. Feb)

鹿児島県立博物館

大正3年に発生した大噴火の記録を残すことから始まった博物館。小規模な博物館ですが、地質、生物、植物がバランス良く展示されています。県の天然記念物”スレッドレーススコリア”も展示されています。

訪問時は口永良部島の特別展が開催中でした。（2018年2月）
