Chinda Falls

Chinda Falls rock was formed from Mt Aso's ignimbrite erupted 90,000 years ago. Hydroelectric dam was built upstream of the falls in 1909 and operated for a short period. There are some ruins of the facility.

沈堕の滝

9万年前の阿蘇山の噴火による火砕流からなる阿蘇連結凝灰岩が形成する岩石。美しい、見ごたえのある滝です。発電所として利用されていた時があるそうで、コンクリートの施設の跡がありました。(2017年12月)
