Nusutto-gari

This strata belongs to Misaki division, sedimentary rocks formed 12M-4.4M years ago. Patter of blackish sand rock and whitish tuffaceous sandstone creates unique view. You can find fault, erosion, lamination.

Nusutto-gari means "thief hunt".  Once upon a time, thieves being chased to the corner of the cliff couldn't move any more due to the height (30 meter) and strong waves and they were easily caught.  （2018. Jan）

盗人狩

この辺り一帯は1200万年〜440万年前に堆積した三崎層に属し、黒っぽい砂岩、白っぽい凝灰質砂礫岩が織り成す模様が美しく、断層、海食、ラミナ、見ごたえたっぷりです。「盗人狩」は「昔、盗賊が追われて、この山の端まで来て下を見ると、恐ろしい断崖（高さ３０ｍ）と怒濤のさか巻に、ぞくそくと身震いをして足がすくんで 動けなくなり、たやすく捕まった」ことから名付けられているそうです。（2018年1月）
