Kitayamazaki

Kitayamazaki is beautiful cliff and we can enjoy the scenery from the view point on the land and from the sea by taking cruise. The cliff is composed of pyroclastic rock of 120-110M years ago. The top of the cliff is believed to have been around at the sea level. And uplift and then erosion has created the current shape of the cliff.

1億2000万年～1億1000万年前の火山砕屑岩から構成され、もとは海面近くにあった現在の崖上が、隆起後浸食され今の姿になったと言われています。

展望台からは断崖が2段になっているのが確認できますし、クルーズからも様々な形を見せる岩を見渡せ、どちらもおすすめです。（2017年7月）
